What a week here down in Southern Brasil. Not that much happened, it has been a pretty calm week. But ENJOY some of my favorite parts of my week.
Tuesday's highlight...I was told I had a funny last name by a lady we have never met before. We met here on the street and after she asked us our names she legit stared at me for a minute then told me that me last name was funny. Ok...Thanks, can I teach you about our church??
Wednesday night at our last appointment we were in a families house because it is getting really cold here. While I was teaching the kids were laughing the entire time. I guess I sound American or something. I thought I was doing pretty good. When we got up to go the kids were still laughing and when we got outside Sister Santos says to me "Did you see ALL THE RATS in their house, there were 3 right behind you while you were teaching." Sister Santos was freaking out. Maybe just maybe that's what the kids were laughing at. I have know idea...

| Baby Shower |
Friday & Saturday were pretty chill. We did get invited to a members baby shower and that was exciting. Lots and Lots of FOOD. We have this saying here "come ate o po" Which basically means "Eat until I am powder" We USE IT ALL the time! We ended up having a huge lunch then some of my favorite fruit MANGOS, then the baby shower food then off to Jessica and her family to eat some CHURROS. Yes...we definitely ate until we were powder!
Sunday I had the chance to speak in church for the first time since I have been here. I thought I was super prepared for my talk I even had Sister Santos look over it for me. I put my talk into my Preach My Gospel book before we left for church. But, while I was sitting up front when I pulled my talk out I realized it was my English Preach My Gospel not my Portuguese one. UGH! I am a mess here in Brasil. But all in all my talk ended up pretty good at least I think??? I did have someone come up to me after my talk she asked me how long I have be here. I told her 3 months and she was surprised she thought I had been here for at least a year. I feel very blessed for having a native companion that is so willing to help me ALL THE TIME. Then after church we went to a barbeque for lunch it was so good. THE FOOD HERE IS SO AMAZING!
Instead of a scripture this week I have a simple quote it is actually the title of my letter this week. "Gather Scattered Israel" President Nielsen has challenged us to work on trying to reach out to others. So I invite you all this week to reach out to someone you haven't in a while or look for anyone that maybe sad or alone these are ALL missionary opportunities. May you be blessed for your efforts. I love you all.
The Book is Blue & remember that God love YOU...
Love, Sister Sanovich![]() |
