Season 2 Episode 21 LOUCO (Crazy)

January 20, 2020

Hello my friends! This week was crazyyyy, just like the last few weeks have been too!

Tuesday - We went to lunch, but when we got to their house the Irmã told us that we didn’t have lunch with her, even though she marked with us on Sunday. She did end up giving us a ride to the house of the family that is from Venezuela’s house where we were supposed to have lunch and she hadn’t made lunch yet, so that was good!!  We left our lunch with them and headed to the bus terminal. Once we got there, we got a call from the other sisters that one of them was going to be emergency transferred out of our area! They also told us that President was headed to our apartment and would be picking her up right now!  We ran home and helped her pack up! Then we stayed in a trio for the rest of the day. Later that night at around 10:15pm we get a phone call from President saying that they will pass by our house with her new companion around midnight. Exactly at midnight we get a call saying that they are here with her new companion! It has been a lot of fun to get to know her the past couple of days, she is very cool and is from a state here in Brasil called Espirito Santo! (Holy Ghost) lol!!

Wednesday - We talked to a bunch of people in the streets and we met a couple that own a salon and they told us that they had already met with other sisters before! They had a bunch of questions and gave us some Coca Cola and chocolate, it was one of the nicest things!

Thursday - Wasn’t too exciting, and nothing really happened!

Friday - WAS GREAT! After lunch we went to the Centro to meet up with some of the other missionaries to do a choir for our Mission Tour that is coming up soon! It’s going to be super cool, and I’m excited for it!

Saturday - We went to lunch and then we headed to the new airport in our area to see what is was like and to try to talk to some new people as well. We ended getting Starbucks Hot Chocolate and tried talking to people! When we were getting on the bus, I met a couple from Germany that spoke English. Let me tell you, I have never been so nervous to speak English to anyone in my life! Haha!! They have been traveling around the different countries in South America and don’t speak any Portuguese, so when I met them, they were very confused! I was glad that I could help a little bit! Then we had marked visit with the Venezuelan family in our ward, the same family from our lunch on Tuesday. They wanted to teach us how to make some traditional Venezuelan food! After we ate some very delicious food, we shared a quick message about prayer with their family. It was awesome because afterwards the Irmã bore her testimony about prayer. She also told us that on Tuesday before we got there, she was struggling a bit (she is pregnant and is dealing with some depression). She was praying while she was making lunch. Then we showed up and helped her and shared a message with her, that she told us was a light that she was needing in that moment. It was neat to be able to see the difference we can have in people’s lives, especially when sometimes the work isn’t that great, that we can help the members that live here too! Afterwards, we were heading home and saw a car motorcycle accident!!! We almost went straight home but one of the sisters was needing to go to the pharmacy across the street! We ended up driving right pass the accident and saw that it was one of the delivery drivers that works for our bishop! When we got there, he was trying to contact Bishop! We told him that we would go and tell the Bishop what had happened for him. Luckily it wasn’t anything too bad, just a few scrapes! It was really good that we passed by when we did!

Sunday - Was transfers, and I will be staying with Sister Dias here in Rio Tavares for another transfer!!

I would like to share a quick scripture Moroni 8:3…talks about “YOU” being in my prayers.
EVERY ONE of YOU are in my prayers.  I’m so thankful that I can pray and that the Lord is willing to answer our prayers too! They really are so powerful, so don’t forget to kneel and talk to our Heavenly Father!!!

Season 2 Episode 20 BATISMO!!! (Baptism)

\
Anny's Baptism - BEST DAY EVER
January 13, 2020

HELLO!!!!!!!!!!
This week was quite the week, here are a few of the highlights!

Tuesday- We went to an Irmãs house and helped her pack up her stuff to live close to the temple in Curitiba! It was really fun to help her pack everything in her house up and know that she was moving to be closer to the temple.

Then we headed to Anny´s house! We were sitting there and all the sudden she said “Because you are going really slow, today I’m going to teach you about tithing and fast offerings” HaHa it was funny, she’s the best! It was an incredible feeling to see how ready she is to be baptized.

Wednesday- We went to lunch with a fun Irma, she is the Irma that owns Aloha pizza! She made us the best homemade Mac and Cheese I have ever eaten. Then we went to Miria’s house and she gave us food too. Then we went to Francisco and Andreia’s house and they made us even more food and ice cream. They are almost married, and they have accepted the date to get baptized the day after they get married!!!

Friday- We had lunch and she made us cake it was so fun! She’s also super fun and really cool!!! Then we went to the church and had Anny’s baptismal interview. She passed! Then my companion got to talk to her family for her Sister’s Wedding!!

Saturday- BAPTISM DAY!!!! It was awesome!!! Anny was beaming, she was so excited.

Sunday- We went to church and I had to speak! Luckily my topic was about the Restoration of the gospel and it is a message we talk about all the time. It was really great! I love being able to remember and study more about the gospel!

There was a little girl that gave her testimony last week, she said something that I thought was so cute! When we pray, Heavenly Father will always answer our prayers! Sometimes our answers aren’t how we expect them to be, but he will always answer us.

I thought that was so sweet, I really loved that! It’s so true, sometimes we need to be a little patient to receive our answers!

Well that’s it for this week!!!!! I love you all!

Season 2 Episode 19 Estou Ficando Louca! (im going crazy)

January 6, 2020

HELLO!!!
Recently I was told, when you think you have seen every crazy thing happen in the mission, something even crazier will happen!!! That basically explains this week.

We started the week off with NEW YEARS!! For New Year’s Eve we went and got our nails done from Anny’s cousin as a New Year’s gift. We headed home and started making our New Year’s feast!

Okay, well actually my companion made it and I ended up falling asleep on the floor! Around midnight we started watching the fireworks and we enjoyed our feast! It was a great way to start off the New Year! Happy 2020!!!

The rest of the week we were dying from how hot it was!!

Friday was where it all got a little interesting!!! (lol) It’s a very long story but basically, we were leaving lunch and one of the sisters wanted to call president again, she had already called in the morning and he didn’t answer. So, her companion said “Just wait for him to call back.”
Then we started walking towards our own areas.
Then the sister is running past Sister Dias and is saying that she is leaving and getting on a bus.  She ends up running to the bus and leaving her companion in the middle of nowhere.
Then I go to be with the other Sister because Sister Dias is the only one that the other sister listens to. As it turns out they had gotten on a bus and were heading to the mission office so that this Sister could talk to President in person. Since they were headed to the office we talked to President and he told the other sister and I to just go to work.
We were a little concerned about both of our companions since I had our phone and keys and the sister I was with also had their phone and keys. Meaning we legit had no clue where they were, or where they were going to end up.
They made it back home safely and the other Sisters companionship doesn’t really talk to each other, however me and my companion are doing great!!
HaHa… That was definitely one of the most interesting things that happened this week or in my mission so far…
On a more spiritual note, I just wanted to share with you all how excited I am for the “Come Follow Me” this year! THE BOOK OF MORMON! We now all have the opportunity to learn more than we have ever learned before, so get started! I love being able to have a specific time of my day to be able to study the scriptures especially The Book of Mormon.
love you all

Season 2 Episode 18 Merry Christmas & Happy 2020

December 24, 2019

Hello Friends!
My View "Merry Christmas"

Christmas was definitely a different Christmas with so much sun and heat! We got to talk to my sweet family in the morning of Christmas Eve, and it was so AWESOME! Definetly a HIGH LIGHT of MY DAY. For Christmas Eve we went to a member’s house and had a super awesome dinner with Irma Fatima and her family! We then went back home and had a little dance party, did a little gift exchange and played with water balloons! it was a fun Christmas, different that’s for sure, but it was fun and very Brazilian! Christmas day we had our lunch and we went to a members house to celebrate a bit of Christmas.

Afterwards we were going to sleep, and my room is really hot because the window doesn’t open, so we all decided to sleep in one room. We were all heading to sleep and I hear a voice really really strong (LOCK THE DOOR) I woke up a little startled, but then I woke up the other sisters and we all went down stairs and locked up the whole house!!!!! Including the windows and door that can't really lock we ended up putting a piece of wood in them.  We get back the bedroom, and we hear some more rattling noises then we hear someone jumping the wall of our house. We ended up calling our district leader and he advised us to call the cops...we are currently in the process of looking for a new apartment!  That was an very interesting experience this week!  I am grateful that I actually listened to the voice telling me to make sure that the doors were all locked.  Don't ever doubt those still small (or really strong) Voices.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!
Have an amazing week and a Happy New Year! It's 2020!
