Ola minha familia e amigos! Tudo bem?
(Hello Family and Friends! IT'S ALL RIGHT?)
This week has flown by
and also felt like years all in one!
The flight here to BRASIL was good... I met an Elder and a Sister on our way from Salt Lake to Atlanta they were very nice and boy was I glad we were traveling together. Then we had to
book it to get to the next flight and of course it was on the opposite side of
the airport.
We get to the terminal as soon as they were calling the last people to get
on for
Sao Paulo, Brazil. It was insane and we all looked at each other wondering
if this was really happening. I sat next to a really nice girl from Sao Paulo,
she was confused why I would be leaving my family and going all the way to Brazil basically by myself. This was the first missionary opportunity I was able to have and it was awesome! I explained to her a little bit, and it went really good.
Wednesday- we got to Brazil, it is soooooo crazy from the plane window there was so much greenery
and houses and buildings stacked on each other. We got off and I instantly felt
the humidity lol my hair is so wild I have never seen it this curly before! We then met up with a bunch of missionaries which was good. The bus ride over here was
insane and I was instantly humbled by what I saw. The drivers here are also
like super crazy they get soooo close to getting in a crash every second,
super funny to me. Then there are people selling stuff walking down the middle of
the crowded streets. We got our name tags and went to choir and had a devotional. Because we don't understand much we always have to wear headphones, it is super
entertaining.
my District is way
cool
sister Perry is from San Francisco
sister Dequain is from Georgia
elder Hixon from Arizona
elder Devenburg from Utah
elder Draper from Texas
elder Seller from Sri Lanka
elder Pita from New Zealand
and drum-roll please...my companion is Sister Oldham
from Arizona.
So it's "Oldham - Sanovich" get it???
We get along really well and she knows a lot of Portuguese and Spanish so that
helps a bunch. We share a room with 2 Brazilians and they are so
cool,
we teach them English and they teach us Portuguese.
I don't have a bunch of
time emailing so sorry for the lack of an email. But I love it here and
everyone is so loving. Our teachers irma (sister) Jensen and irma (sister) Lopes both speak English which is super nice and we are learning a lot from them. Our days are
starting to be more and more Portuguese which is kinda overwhelming and I definitely have a headache all day (haha) But I have never been happier!
On Sunday my entire branch bore our testimonies and we all shared them in Portuguese, it was pretty cool to be able to feel the Spirit even when I really don't understand very much.
I am gonna to be honest the
food is not very good. My favorite thing has be dulce de leche pizza. lol I could have that everyday! Other than that we usually have rice and beans and some
meat. Then we sit around all day and eat again. We are eating soooooo much. Luckily I have been told that the food out of the CTM is much better then in here. (haha) But we are being fed so its really nice. My favorite is that we have
unlimited mango juice and guarana with our meals...
The title of this
email is QUE LEGAL which means HOW COOL, and we say that a lot here when
talking to people. It is really fun to say, probably one of my favorite
phrases so far. When I tell people that I am going to Florianopolis they are
like ohhhh bonita e muito frio..(beautiful and very cold) then I just have to laugh because if that is cold then what is Utah to them. Then they always say that it is actually a Vacation not a Mission.
Unfortunately I cant send any pictures until I am out of the CTM...but I love you all!!
In the name of Jesus Christ,)
Love.
XOXO,
Sister Sanovich

Oh, so amazing! I look forward every week to a Carley Pick Me Up! Thanks for sharing!
