Oiiiii tudo bem? (Hi, How are you?)
Okay
this past week was great and quite interesting.
Lemme tell you a
little about it!
Monday: Our plans fell through to have a family night
but turns out everything worked out really well because we had a friend that
called us to stop by and teach her a lesson!
Tuesday: We taught
some amazing people with a lot of questions about the church I am getting a
little more comfortable with the language that it helps to answer what they are
asking. Then when we left the lesson it was SUPER dark outside, darker than on
any normal night. Our District Leader
ended up calling about that same time and told us that we were having an eclipse!
It was cool to see. We got to see the
ending of the eclipse! After that we went
to a member’s house and ate hot dogs!! (yes, a food detail)
Wednesday: We met some new people to teach with a bunch
of potential!! Then later in the day we
were clapping at doors and asking people if we could share a quick message with
them and say a quick prayer..... When we clapped at this one house the lady opens
the door and says, “No my religion doesn’t permit that.” Ohhh OK.
My head had been
hurting since Monday and I called Sister Gonçalves and she able to get me some
medication that seemed to help for a little bit but then it came back. That night we ended our day at the Bishops
house to hangout and eat some cake! (another food detail)
Thursday: Was a regular weekly planning day and then we
taught our friend! He committed to being baptized next week!!! We are beyond excited because he has been
going to church every Sunday for 3 months now and is so Happy!
**Mama Nic Note: We have asked Carley to tell us the names of
the people and the details she is teaching...but unfortunately, she is not really
great at the either one. But boy do we love that she is actually typing her own
emails now. (hahaha) Hopefully one day we will get more details!
Friday and Saturday
nothing too exciting happened, we taught our friends again and we are so
excited because they are sooooo awesome and progressing quite fast.

Sunday: We went to church and guess what?? WE had 6
friends come with us!!!! After church we went to a member’s house for lunch. She kept talking about how she would love to
come to the states to sell Brazilian food in Time Square. I of course think
that would be AMAZING…and she could totally do it. After lunch my head was still hurting worse
than before, it felt a little like a sinus infection. When we were leaving I actually almost passed
out and had to stop for a bit. My companion suggested going to Jessica’s house which
was really close. Jessica felt like we
needed to talk to our Bishop (I think they were nervous that I was not doing
well) We ended up talking to our Bishop and he spoke with President and they
agreed that I needed to go to the Hospital. UGH
I almost had to go by
myself which I don’t completely understand but I guess because I haven’t’ had
really any problems they thought I could just go by myself. WHAT???? I was VERY NERVOUS first of all I don’t
know what is going on with me and then the whole Portuguese language. So guess what I did??? I pretended that I didn’t
understand anything so that my companion could come with me and translate for
me. lol! I am NOT one who likes doctors anyways then to go by myself without my
companion. I don’t think so. The Bishop luckily wanted to take us so that
was awesome as well. We talk to the doctor
and he said that I do have a sinus infection they were able to get me a prescription
to take for the week. But because here
in Brazil they like to to give you an IV first to get the medicine in you before
you take your first dose. I ended up having
an IV for about 40 minutes to make the spinning stop....Luckily it helped! We
were at the hospital for about 3 hours and our Bishop waited with me the entire
time!!! He is so sweet! Then we went to his house and he gave me a blessing of
health & strength. I am feeling much
better now!
Lol so that was a
crazy end to our week.
I do have a Doctors appointment
on Thursday just to make sure everything is going good!
That’s about it for this
past week!!!
I love you all and
remember the church is true, the book is blue and God loves you!
XOXO
